ICE QUEEN

The newest addition. I think this style earmuff has to be my personal favorite. I just love nature and the floral embellishment looks dark and precious on the side of the band.

Super cold tiny dog...

Ok, so my dog is super lame when it comes to cold weather. She's a smaller than average miniature pinscher weighing 8lbs. Last year I made her a coat from like 3 layers of fleece and some flannel which is all good and fun but it gets wet and is sort of ill-fitting so I'm thinking this year I could actually go out of my way and create something superior like a rabbit fur coat for her. It wouldnt be cheap but if you've ever bought a coat for your dog you know the ready made ones arent cheap either so despite the effort that would need to be put in I think it could be a worthwhile venture.
If I ever get around to making it I will definately post it to this blog and let the world know how much I cater to my princess of a dog.

WHITE OUT

There is something honest, beautiful and classic when you are dealing with a color as void as pure white. The personality of the wearer has a chance to dominate the fashion and come through with little static from busy prints or too rich a color choice. I have a personal affinity towards black and white for some reason... I guess it just makes me feel sleek and sexy without drawing too much attention to myself (I like to dart around unnoticed most the time).
The WHITE OUT fox tail is now available in the shop and comes with silver or gold hardware.

Newest Foxtail Keychain

Just put this one together yesterday and here it is available today.... Dyed a rich black and accented with a silver dreamcatcher featuring 2 perfect little feathers. I really like the way the blue seems to glow against the black fur.

Makin' Earmuffs

Just thought I'd share a nice and quite morning I was having... Currently I am putting together the last couple items that will be for sale this fall and winter for Plush Furs on the Etsy shop. I would really like to get my hands on a model to showcase these new items sometime in the next few months, once things get situated in my home life. With a baby due in a couple weeks, a move expected to take place around the same time and getting everything together with my business, my plate is full.

Embroider me crazy

I was recently inspired by the book clutches from Le-Tan and other artists who take books and turn them into totally useable clutches and purses. So I started doing some research into their construction and embroidery work.... Here's what I found!

Could this be my next project? Maybe :)

The New Green

Regardless of what most uninformed people say, fur is actually green, sustainable and eco-friendly in many ways. The controversy comes when countries decide to not impose strict laws and guidelines for farmers/ranchers in their practices. Luckily, there are many countries that do care about these things such as Canada, United States and most of Western Europe to start...

Why is it green? Well, lets think about the material. Fur is delicate and has to be processed delicately in order to preserve its suppleness and condition, so no harsh chemicals are used in this process. Unlike synthetics which are used to make faux fur fabrics, real fur doesnt pollute the environment and is a biodegradable natural resource.

If you are searching for the most PC fur to wear and buy, go with rabbit. They are raised for food and when processed, the fur becomes a byproduct of this industry.

So there you go, a few uselful bits of information to help you better understand the other side of the fur vs. faux argument. Not everything is what it appears to be.

Native Summer

Summer inspires me to be more free in my daily life as well as my work. Encorporating vivid colors and patterns into my accessories is a great way to let the light into my otherwise bland closet. There is something about the look of a dreamcatcher that speaks to my metaphysical side and makes me want to be more connected to the world in spirit.
